N400 - fingerprints on paper - not computer

For fingerprinting in Newark office, some of us had to do fingerprinting on a "paper", the old way, as they don't have enough computer terminals.
Did anyone had problems because of this??
Has anyone did this way recently? Is the process delayed much further?
