Hi all. Me and my wife were recently scheduled for the civics test in the 300 Los Angeles office. I had a New Jersey driver License and she had a California License. She got through but in my case the officer give me a paper stating that i have to submit my California DL within 30 days.

I immediately went down to DMV and got my DL changed to CA within 2 days and sent the paper CA temp DL via fedex and usps overnight.

Yesterday my wife received the oath letter in the mail for 0ct 27th. Has any one faced a similar experience. How long does it take for them to accept the DL papers.

Appreciate any views.

I called Customer Service today and they said that the case is transferred to the local office and that I must give them 30 days to update the case information.

Any tips/help please. ?

It looks as though you will have to wait at least the 30 days, and if no movement then you may be able to inquire.

It doesn't seem to be a very common situation, so maybe people just don't know the answer.

Good luck...hope it happens soon and that you get your letter.

mkrida, thanks for the reply,. Lets hope things work out. I am a little concerned as I've seen multiple reports where people mail in their documents and after 30 days they get a letter that they have not received their documents. I was actually looking for people's experience where they had to mail in additional info and the time line on uscis's response.
