N400 - Biometrics & Fingerprints appointment

My mother has applied for US Citizenship and the priority date is May 19, 2011. On Friday June 3 received the biometrics notification in mail, appointment date is Wednesday June 8. She has gone to NJ to visit family and is not able to return for the appointment.

Can she go within a month or so to Jacksonville, FL Application Support Center with the current appointment or should she request a reschedule?

Kindly share any recent experience.

The FP notice should state that she could drop by the office if she misses her appointment.
