N-600k interview need advice

filed for 9 month old at the time the n-600k in USA but entered from Canada to USA on b2 visa. He is 3 years old now and just received an email to schedule his interview in October. We stayed in USA because we were afraid of getting border locked again cause we had that happen when the father tried to enter Canada and was denied during Covid. But I applied for n600k not the n600. His father is citizen I am permanent green card, but due to processing issues and time delays I had to reissue the b2 extension that had an expired i94. I was stupid and I didn’t do the lpr green card application I don’t know will he have problems at the interview? He’s a citizen at birth but with no lpr. I didn’t know what to do, please forgive my ignorance. We waited for so long.

N-600K (which applies for the INA 322 naturalization process) is only for children who are NOT already US citizens. If the parents met the conditions for transmitting US citizenship to a child born abroad at the time of the child's birth, the child is already a US citizen, and is not eligible for N-600K. As a US citizen, the child can simply apply for a US passport at any time, without needing to have obtained a CRBA or Certificate of Citizenship first.
