If you have a straightforward case, you don't need a lawyer to navigate the N-400 process. The vast majority of cases I have seen on this forum have been handled by the applicants on their own.

Month and year is fine for 6A and 6B
Photo dimension requirements are 2"x2"
You might consider just including professional associations and any university alumni organizations

If your case is simple, hiring a lawyer is not necessary
b) can having lawyer - good or bad?
For complicated cases hiring a lawyer is money well spent. However, for a simple case it would be a waste of your money as basic help is available online.
c) also asking me to sign G-28? do i need to sign if i not require him to come for interview? interview cost i am responsible.
Yes, you need to sign it if you hire a lawyer to represent you ..even if lawyer doesn't come to interview.

d) lawyer ask to provide only month-year for 6A and 6B. he say date not required. is this true?
If you don't know exact dates, month/year format is fine.
e) photo dimension off by little 1/8" - is it ok?
They may reject them even if they are off by only 1/8". Just bring correct size at interview just in case.
f) require to provide detail of my involvement in 10B for usa uni. alumni and my country's social people group/church in usa? or just leave empty?

The question is asked to make sure you don't belong to any illegal groups. There's no harm in disclosing/not disclosing your alumni or church group associations as long as they are not affiliated with any illegal activities.

It depends how much control you want over your case. If you are ok with filing yourself and getting updates on your own when you want, then tell them you'll be filing yourself instead. However, if you want them to pay and have lawyer handle everything then have then file via lawyer.

b) if lawyer files papers, would that hurt my n-400 application or delay it?
Only if lawyer delays sending you correspondence from USCIS. Having a lawyer won't speed up the process, but USCIS correspondence may be delayed to you depending on lawyer since everything goes through them.
c) uscis not like lawyer filing papers? is it better to go with lawyer or without lawyer?
USCIS doesn't care either way..they don't view hiring lawyer as a bad or good thing but rather as just part of the representation process.

I can only see in your case using a lawyer make the following two minor differences

(1) It can delay your application for a few days. If you file, you can send the application package right after you fill the form. With a lawyer you need to send the package to your lawyer and your lawyer has no mood to catch every single day. So you may losse a few days for your priority day. A
few days do not make much difference and assuming there is no strict monotone relationship a few day's delay may accidently make it faster

(2) With a lawyer representing you, you almost get every notice sent to both
you and your lawyer, so you have a peace of mind that the chance of any notice lost in the mail is minimized

(2) is a plus point and (1) is a minu point. Neither is that significant
