I am tulhyd, new to this forum, and I have a question on filling N 400 appliation on Part 10. I appreciate if you can guide or suggest with your experience on this.
I am GC since 2003 Aug and continuously residing in US. I am eligible to apply for N 400 in this Aug 2008. I am a regular college student doing my undergraduate. I am also doing part time jobs during night time and on weekends and on vacation time. While doing the part time in the year 2005, I have been charged by employer theft case under misdeameour and booked by police people and taken my photo and finger prints and put me in jail for 1 hour and later released on bail. After I talked to a lawyer and filed papers in the court. The court asked to do community service for 9 months and I finished the service successfully and then my lawyer requested the court to expunge the case. The court looking to the satisfactory completion of the community service has given a letter of expunging my case from the records.
I have all the court papers with me.
My question while submitting the papers to INS do I need to take the attorney service for filing my case or is it ok to do it on my own, since the case is closed and I have the papers with me.
After that my record is clean and I do not hve any traffic tickets.
I appreciate if you can throw your suggestions.
