N-400 photograph standard?

I read from the CIS flyer that I shall provide two "passport style" photographs along with the N-400 application. My questions are:
1) the size of the photos is 2" x 2", correct?
2) the Naturalization Guide (M-476) states that "... be sure there is enough white space in the margin of the photographs so you will have room to sign your full name if your application is approved". Is this still applicable? The studio where I had my photos taken cut the photos without leaving any white space. Is it OK?
Thanks.

You will need two passport style photos. Check the information in the following link:

I have the same question too. Did lot of reading on this but could not
get a consistent answer. Finally I gave up, went to a photo sudio (who
claim to be 'experts' in immigration requirements) and got the photos
taken. He took a 2" x 2" front pose pictures leaving about
1/2 cm white space on the top.

I am going to sumbit N-400 very shortly and have got the following
specific questions (some of them might sound silly but dont want to
take chance). Can someone pl. answer / validate ?

1) Check amount - $390 ? do we have to write A# on the check ?

2) Check should be made out to " U.S. Department of Homeland Seuciry" ?
Again the guide, the N-400 instrunctions and other URLs are not
consistent on this.

3) Address (I belong to Vermont S.C) :

Vermont Service Center, 75 Lower Weldon Street,
St. Albans, VT 05479-0001

(The addresses of all other 3 centers have got a P.O.Box # but
not the Vermont one...hope it is not a typo in the guide)

4) Can we sendl it by USPS certified mail ? (so that we will have a receipt).

5) Order of documents : (a) personal check, (b) 2 photos in a
small closed envelope, (c) N-400 form, (d) photo copy of
green card - both sides......holding all these 4 together using a clip

Thanks for your help

I sent using USPS regular mail (it is because my home address is only 20 mins to the CSC po#) + signature confirmation + tracking number.
