N-400: Part 10B - Affiliations

The item 8a of part 10B asks about membership, affiliations. Is this question about political party??? Do academic membership to organizations like American Society of Quality, International Institute of Business Analysis, etc... need to be listed here?

It's funny, so many of us are AAA members and USCIS says that it is a motor club and need not listed.
 
This question comes up often. I belong to a few clubs and professional organizations. I listed all of them on the application. At the interview, the officer simply confirmed that I was a member of those orgs, and moved on to the next item. Go ahead and list them, it won't delay your application, and you won't have to worry about being accused of omitting something.
 
List the academic or professional orgs...no harm.

After you list them, just add a sheet of paper with a very brief explanation abt them (if you notice N-400 asks you to attach a sheet if you mark YES for some items).

-- I will write a small description of the organization and what they are.
-- my Full Name, A number and signature

The above should be sufficient ? or do I need to add anything else (like membership number, organization address etc..)

For the signature, the N-400 instructions say that for signature on N-400 (Part 11) one should sign their full name without abbreviating or using initials. Does this apply to the separate sheet of paper or a usual signature (the ones we use at banks etc..) will do ?

The above should be sufficient.
Signature on the attachment - you dont even need to sign that, I think. You can if you want - the full signature.

I can't think of a more ridiculous suggestion. If we all did this, the rain forests would be gone by the weekend.
