My husband is Canadian and has had a Resident Alien Card for 31 years- Is now finally applying for citizenship- ( I am a US citizen by birth) We live in Washington State so have been up to visit his relatives for weddings, funerals, holidays, birthdays etc. numerous times over the years- probably averaging 4 trips a year that would make over 100 trips in 31 years- there is no way for us to remember or list all these trips that the question asks- lots of trips in the 1980's were before personal computers, so even US officials would not have records. passports have just been recently required but they are usually not stamped- we figure we could probably put together 5-10 years worth of trips but not any further back than that- what is the best way to answer that question? Would they honestly expect us to remember all that?- He has only been out of the US 3 times other than Canada and those we do have dates on.
I know this question is geared for people that try to get citizenship as soon as they legally can but what about the ones like us that have been in the US legally for decades with a permanet resident alien card? thanks for any answers.
