N-400 Application and Name Change

Hi,

My GC has the name that appear in my passport, but my current legal name is different. In fact I have a name change certificate from Canada that shows the change.

I am completing the N-400 application now.

In Part A, I plan to write my current legal name and Part B my name as it appears in my GC and plan to attach the name change certificate with my application. I would like my Citz Cert in my current legal name of course.

I have three questions:

1) What do I write in Part C?

2) Should I also have complete part D for any reason?

3) At what point will the name switch happen. NOA?, FP, Interview? Oath?

Part C is N/A

Part D is NO

They will send mail to you in your current legal name that you provide.
