N-400 addresses: short gaps or match?

Hello everybody,

In the last five years I have lived in three places, including the current one. With one exception I don't remember exactly when I moved out of/in to a place. It's more like within a few days (for instance I finally moved into my current residence sometime in the first week of August). And two years ago it took me about a week to drive across the country to my new residence.

So how should I list the "from-to" dates? Should they match, as somebody suggested (like you move out the same day in which you move to a new residence)? I was explained that once you move out you are technically in your next residence. So say I left the northwest on the 11 of the month, and though it took me five days, my new residence started on the same date 11.

Anyway, sorry if it's a trivial question. :)Thanks in advance!

When did the lease or mortgage on the old address end? When did the lease or mortgage on the new address begin? Use those facts to guide your date selection.

When I was moving I went on vacation abroad about 1 week before my lease ended, then arrived back in the US to move into my new place about 1 week after the old lease ended. I used the end of the old lease as my end date for the old address (since I technically had control of the place until that date even though I wasn't physically there), and the next day as the start date of the next address.

Thanks. Lease end and next day for next residence makes sense. Although in my case I only remember vaguely the dates.
