Hi,
I really need help. my nd is feb.22 2000,finger print 19th oct.2000
case tranfer to Arlington. But i mailed my change of address on 12th march to VSC. now i am in Maryland but they did not change my address and transfer my file to Arlington. Now i sent my application for renewal to Arlingtonon march 25th coz my file is there but i got letter from arlington on may 1st that i need to apply in maryland office. My card is expire on 18 of may i have no idea where is my file right now and what should i do. Please help me here.

What renewal are we talking about here?. On a different note about address change, you may call up IIO about the address change and the fact that you have applied for address change with the INS. IIO can usually correct the address right on the system and talk to them about this issue. Also contact your lkawyer how to handle this.

This is what I understood from the message:

Your 485 was xfd to Arlington but you changed address to Maryland. Now you are looking for EAD approval.

My opinion: Usually after local transfer EAD is renewed from the local office. I don\'t know whether VSC will be able to make EAD renewal. Might want to call IIO or talk to attorney.

As the file is not yet at Arlington, it could mean:

 1. They are yet to transfer the file from VSC
 2. They might have transfered to Maryland? Check with Maryland office
 3. Might have been transfered to SOME OTHER PLACE --- have heard about such things.

You need your attorney help to locate the file and get your EAD. Parallely go to local INS office with the returned papers, the 485 receipts, and local transfer notice (?) and EAD application to see whether Maryland will issue EAD. Keep proof that you are working in Maryland.

The above is my opinion...

Note: INS takes months to transfer files between offices and is very tricky...a good attorney could help?

Thanks for reply.my EAD card renewal is the one i am talking. Its expire on 18th may.I called and spoke to IIO she told me they can not do anything i should talk to my Local office Baltimore.But my file is still in Arlington office. Baltimore office can not renew coz they dont have my file.

I went to Arlington office but they did\'t let me go inside. They are telling me they might have my file but they can not renew my EAD bcoz i m not in VA any more and if Baltimore office ask them then they will transfer file to MD.

This looks like the typical INS mess. Did you ask the attorney\'s help?

Continue knocking at the doors, including writing to INS and e-mail INS business liasion.

Take it up with the senator or congressmen. Is your LC valid for all locations?
