While Me and my wife were away in Germany, My wife's uncle who was an asylum applicant was detained and put in Prison and to be deported. His case had been denied and he was ordered to be leave within 30 days.

We family members have started a website and gotten lot of attention. Notably by Newsweek and Pittsburgh Post Gazette. We are trying to get this story aired on Dateline NBC but it's a work in progress.

I am just curious, in this country, nothing is done without the cause or I might be wrong. There has to be something they are charged for and I would get the attorney to figure it out. A friend of mine got into similar trouble and he had no idea why they detained him. With the help of an attorney, they found that some paperwork was not filed on time ( do not know the details) etc...

just a thought

I know of a similar case than happened in MD 3months ago.The police came looking for this guy whose application had been denied.
It would appear as though the new procedure is to immediatly arrest, detain and deport all those who asylum claims have been denied. I have read at least 2 similar cases on the internet.
Conclusion: When you apply for asylum, be prepared to win or else you would be treated as a criminal. Meanwhile there are 11 million illegals roaming around

Two weeks ago I posted a link to this story featured on the MSNBC website.

A question. Are you REALLY related to them or you just said it?

In any case, good luck to you.

They have been denied by I/O or Judge? Cant they Apeal?

Yes denied by everyone. The reason for their denial was because their U.S Citizen brother didnt show in the court and the judge said that..because of that she thought he had helped them smuggle into the country...Weird thing is that they applied for asylum at the airport and could've just walked out...

Update on this case for anyone who cares...

Seems like My wife's uncle & Wife who were workers at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C fell under a thing called "Operation Tarmac." IT was launched after 09/11 where INS were trying to find illegal aliens working at airports.

Now the sad part is that how is an asylum seeker who btw is stilli waiting his deportation ORDER from the USCIS illegal? They fingerprinted him and photographed him when he applied for asylum...This is just crazy!!

Our lawyers are trying to clear this misunderstanding but DHS doesn't want to hear anything.

But is it true that most airport jobs can now held only by citizens?

Your other uncle should utilize his contacts to resolve this.

Well they never claimed to be U.S Citizens and showed their work permits...They werent holding a federal job but rather just bagage movers and people movers...The problem is no politican gives a damn..so what can you do?
