my wife received interview letter, but not me

I do not think it is that women are not put through the name check process - everyone is. Men may be more likely to have namesakes who are actually in some watch list, though.

My husband (timeline below) and I applied at the same time. He is already scheduled for interview; I had issues with my fingerprints, so I had to have them taken twice. FBI already sent results to USCIS, but I still do not have an interview letter... So I suspect I am stuck in the name check process.

Hi

I just recieved my IV letter for Sep 5. Looks like my name check took about 3 weeks more than my wife. Good luck to everyone in the same situation. Hang in there!!!

my wife recieved IV letter, and I am still waiting

Following is the timeline for me and my wife for the N400 app.

PD-04/04/2006 - Spouse - 04/04/2006
FP-05/10/2006 - Spouse - 05/10/2006
INterview notice - Spouse - 06/14/2006
ID - Waiting - Spouse - 08/09/2006
ID-Interiview date
Online status - Still showing the standard message for me, Spouse - case status is not found.

I would like to know what is currently going on San Jose. I and my wife applied together and my application is struck in Name check process. One of my friend's wife has applied one week prior to us and she is in same time line as my wife. I think INS is scrutinizing men's application more than women. Only god knows the answer. Interestingly my name is a generic first name and I dont know whether that has got to do with the delayed name check. My wife's name is a generic name and it is not as common name as mine. I think this may be the reason why my application is still held.
I contacted USCIS on the 1800....... number and same usual reply check the processing dates and if it is 30 days older than your case, we can work on your case and request for more check. When I called a different person spoke to me and she said it is pending on the name check. Anyways I hope INS does something about improving the overall name check process.

Hi, Can you tell me where you got this information from?
Some threads mentioned before, and one of the thread even post a law firm's web with the detail memo. Just can't remember the title of the thread, but you can check to see recently threads posted on this forum.

no, I am still waiting. I didn't make any phone call to INS. Just wait, Looks like that is only way we can do, Hopefully, I can receive my IV letter soon.

My wife is wating for her interview letter but I got mine about 1 month ago. Below are the details:

NSC;
Chicago DO
Priority date for both: 05/23
FP completed together:06/17
My interview letter rcvd: 07/17
My interview date: 09/06
MY wife has not received Interview letter -her case status on-line still says case pending decision
Talked to IO - she repeated that case is pending

I wonder if electing to say YES for name change to take my last name and add a middle name with her maiden name has anything to do with the delay.

How can I check if background check has been completed for her? I called FBI and they mentioned they send info on same day as FP. Does that mean background check is complete?

thanks
