my wife received interview letter, but not me

does anybody know why my wife received interview letter but not me?
the same priority date, the same FP date.
does anybody know the reason?

Same here, my wife and I both FP'ed together on 5th May, wife received her Interview letter on 30th May for 24th July interview date. I am still waiting (VSC, NYC DO).

Reading posts from this forum, it seems that men are put into name-check queue, while women are not, hence the delay.

Just my guess, though.

Can you please post the timeline, PD, FD and When your wife got IV Letter?
From some of threads said, husband may take longer to get IV letter because background check.
Here is my time line/TSC:
PD:5/9
FD:6/15

Waiting for IV Letter.

Your cases are independent from each other so you might have interview on different days theoretically. We had all at same day, including an interview, but after July the 24th I'll be Legal Alien married to US Citizen. :rolleyes:
Never had even speeding ticket.

I guess after some number of law suits they will start to invite for interview only after background check is done so there is no way to take advantage of 120 days rule.

There is no doubt that some thing is going on with USCIS and men applicants. My wife received IV letter almost a month back. My case is not even updated. I do not really know what is happening.

I called 1800 number and managed to speak with a supervisor. I confirmed with IO that my name check is complete. So it is not becos of name check. I suggest others also todo the same, so that you atleast know whether it is becos of namecheck or not.

I and my wife filed for naturalization
Filing Date - April 27
Finger Prints - May 26 - postponed to July 15
Visited ASC on June 21 and had our FP taken (Argued a bit but then took our FP dispite our new date was July 15.
Wife has interview date August 15
Nothing on me...

when your wife receive her IV letter? Does her online status changed to "not found" before she got IV notice? Thanks

I would definitely say it has to do with namecheck.
By the way my houston brother lkbetcz??> the information you provided is very true for oath letters not interview letters.

Yes...her online status is 'not found'.
My status is...all the same blah blah blah about application being processed

Both spouses have same Receipt Date and FP Date.

For both of them, on-line status says case NOT found.

Husband received IV Letter.

Wife still waiting.....and waiting....and waiting.....

Is it possible that letter got lost in the mail? Is there a way to verify?

Is 1-800- Disservice line (as some people say) will be able to tell about IV letter and date?
 
Finally my spouse got the Interview Letter too! It is time to prepare for interview!

Does it mean that we are through Name Check or it can still be de-scheduled for lack of completion of Name-Check.

1- Husband got IV Letter on 7/11, wife on 7/13.
For both of us, status had case not found since 7/8.

Now I suspect (just suspect!) that the reason wife got the letter later is because of her last name is alphabetically much later than her husband's. Husband's last name starts with 'C' while wife's last name starts with 'V'.

Afterall, there is always an explanation for everything.

2. Thanks for re-assurance! If there has been any insurance for name-check, I would have definitely taken that!

Hi, havefun, first congrts! Your wife got IV today and thanks for sharing information with us.
May I know how to create portfolio online? After you created, does USCIS will sent you updated information through e-mail? Thank you very much!
 
This is how to create online portfolio
1- Go to https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

2 - Click on Register on the left hand side
3- then go to To register as an applicant customer click here.
4 - Click on Accept
5- Fill in your information.
6- Add your Recipt Number and you are all set to go

Once you have created portfolio for yourself, USCIS will send e-mail whenever there is an update on your case.

Same with me too....

My wife and I did FP on 6/29. Yesterday (7/14) my wife recvd interview letter (interview is on 8/28) and my online status still didnt change. BTW, both of our last names are same.
