Hello all.. I had my interview today.. was very nice and smooth.. officer was very nice.. didn't even go through the whole application.. But i was freaking out.. as I always do when I am getting ready to take a test.. He went through marked everything.. asked for my passport and green card, and drivers licence.. then he asked some questions like have u ever been arrested bla bla bla.. i said no except a traffic ticket.. he updated my app and wrote on their what for, and when.. and asked weather i paid .. then he gave me a letter that said congrats.. you have recommended for approval.. upon final approval you will recive ur oath notice.. NOW I M FREAKING OUT>.. my freind was their .. interviewed with the same officer.. did not disclose her ticket.. and I did.. and we both were approved.. I am soo scared that this will cause my oath to delay or something.. i was reading posts and asked lawyers they all said just say .. noo never been in trouble except a minor traffic violation.. i wish i didn't say it.. ohh well whats done is done.. thank god I was approved and hopefully will get the oath letter same day as my freind if not.. i will have a heart attack.. I have been waiting so long for this day.. I hope all goes well.. and it will.. with the will of god..

Congratulation Sarina. You are almost there, so hang tight. I hope both of you get your oath letter same time so that you can take oath together. It would be nice of you if you could post your time line with DO. Thanks

Choty

Did the interview verify your overseas trips in the N400 form with your passport? Were you asked for tax return?

congrats sarina....

Did the interview verify your overseas trips in the N400 form with your passport? Were you asked for tax returns? and looks like ur timeline was fast.. can also plz post ur complete timeline from filing to interview. hopefully u will get oath letter soon . goody luck.

nope.. i had about 5 trips.. he did not look to match or anything.. just looked at the number of days.. didn't even open my passport.. but all of my trips were like a week or soo.. .. the whole process from filing to interview took 4 months 1 week.. but i wont consider myself done until i get my oath letter..... hopefully all will go well and myabe next month.please god please.. .. then i will post my complete timeline...

Sarina, You must filed under San Antonio DO. No other TSC DO is that fast. Please Correct me if I am wrong. Why you don't want to tell anything untill you get oath letter? Do you entertain the possibility that INS will hunt you in the web and delay or cancel your petition?!! You are still in your teens at least acting, like my x!!!!!!!!

LOL.. i would like to think that i m in my teeeeeennns....and I do have a paranoiya disorder....Hehehehe...sooo just hope that all goes welll and with gods will.. u will find out in 3 weeeeekkkksss....
Good Luck..

i m sorry i didn't answer this question earlier for the person who asked if they ask for tax return.. noo they did not i felt like the only person who was over prepared and had a little file with me.... i guess for guys u have to take more to show ur selective services stuff.. but all he asked was have u filed all ur taxes... i had all my papers with me.. but when i walked in after taking the oath to tell the truth he asked me to give him my passport and GC and TDL and put the file aside... and my freind came with her passport and green card.. thats it ... the girl behind me also had a lil purse.. she was indian.. i mean a lil tiny purse.. i asked her if she braught ne thing with her, she was like noo i just have passport and GC and drivese licence.. i didn't stay around to find out what happend with her...it definetly seem like they had like atleast 15 officers maybe more doing interviews.. it seemed like thats all they were doing... natz interview.... another freind who interview, her and her husband she had already told me don't take anything... they don't ask for proof.. oh yeah .. my mom did her interview like 2 yrs ago.. she got two letters.. 1st one was exactly like mine which said be there , time and date and bring ur stuff... then like 2 or 3 weeks later she got another letter asking her to bring her tax documents and all .. i am thinking since my dad owns his business and she put down that she is a house wife.. maybe thats why i don't know but they did make copies of her of tax papers.... but remember she specifically got the letter requesting to bring the tax paperss.... but for the 4 people who i know interviewd within the last couple of months.. nothing at all.. didn't take n e thing.. werent' asked for n e thing....

Taking oath same day ?

Sarina,

Would you please tell us, what are the Politics/history questions they asked you in the interview ?

To all: Sometimes dont they give you the option to take the citizenship oath the same the as the interview ?

My citizenship interview is on October 4th 2004.

thanks,
Arun.

Arun,
Yes, interview & oath are given on the same day in some location ( Cherry Hill, NJ ). But you got to be very lucky to get interveiw & oath on the same day for other location ( Garden City, NY ). What's your location? Can you post your time line as well.

Thanks
Choyty

Shaky don't be so nervous. You will pass your exam as you did it last time in New York. You know why you did not get the Oath letter in Garden City. If I remember correctly you withdrew your application. Right?

This time you will get it. If I were you I would be ready for questions on your previous withdrawl of application. The officer will ask you on your last application. So be ready and have your paperwork with you when you go for an interview. This is the only thing I see in your case which can delay the process ( I pray this does not happen to you - as you mentioned that you want to bring your mom here in this country).

So as Rahul said, RELAX and I would say the same thing RELAX and RELAX but ready for questioning. Personally I think once you pass the test, Oath will be a breez :) Good luck.

The history and politics questions test is so easy that it cannot be easier. You will feel that it was easier than the 1st grade exam you wrote 20 years ago in desh !

Really so people. Do not even bother about it. It is just a formality. Guess what? In my opinion, no desi ever fails that test. And if at all you fail, you can always go back and give it again. Was that JoeF who said that the INS is determined to give you the C/ship unless you DO NOT WANT IT. He is perfectly right! Particularly before these elections! :)

Yeah Right!! :(

This applies to only shaky's case. Last time he waited so long for the oath that this time it will be a breez for him. I know lot of people are waiting for the Oath. For many of us its not a 'breez'.

I don't know about this. I don't see any high numbers of C/ship approvals. But I do hope this is true what 'WouldBeCitizen' written. I think name check is delaying lots of C/Ship cases.
