Thank you all for taking the time to read this post and thanks in advance for any answers or guidance. I have been living in the States for more than 10 years, have received my undergraduate and masters degrees here and now have been working for a company for more than 5 years. My greencard application has been in process since 2001 and am possibly 4-5 months away finalization.
I got married about 3 years ago and my wife was also added to my application. We had serious marital problems initially and my wife was arrested roughly 2 years and 6 months ago for "domestic assault". In consideration of our greencard application, the judge gave her "suspended imposition" and her probation ended several months ago without any other incident.
Just as I was thinking that we sorted out our marital and other issues, my life came crashing down today as she was arrested for "petit larceny". Even though this was something that I would not have ever expected of a person her age and social status, I am now left with the possibility that she may be denied for her greencard.
I have a two year old daughter whom I love endlessly and I am left desperate by my wife's inconsiderate act of sheer stupidity. I have no idea what will happen to us or my daughter who is a citizen.
My questions at this point are:
1. Will she be denied for her greencard?
2. Is there a possibility that we may both be denied even though I absolutely had nothing to do with her act and have no similar thing in my background?
Thanks again for any answers and guidance.
