My Kid sister got married before playing the DV2008

My Kid sister got married before playing the DV2008 on the 06 November 2007 and play the DV on the 3 December 2007 as a single (that is not married) because her husband travelled and she couldn't get any of his pictures that fulfilled the DV criteria. She won the DV2008 case number 2008AF000021xxx and was notified on April 4 and got her notification letter in May and she filled the forms now including her husband along side their marriage certificate dating 06 Nov 2007. I don't know if this can be a reason for visa refusal. She is a Cameroonian and will be expected to be inteviewed in the US embassy in Yaounde

I think they will disqualify her at time of interview, because she made knowingly wrong statements in her application.

From
'INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE 2008 DIVERSITY IMMIGRANT VISA PROGRAM (DV-2008)' page 6

15. SPOUSE INFORMATION - Name, Date of Birth, Gender, City/Town of Birth, Country of Birth, Photograph. Failure to list your spouse will result in disqualification of the principal applicant and refusal of all visas in the case at the time of the visa interview.

Thats what I had in mind.

Funny to see how pepole waste a "once in a life" chance.

They better not going to the interview and waste 2* $785

I mean funny ironically. I cannot understand how ppl waste their chance because they did not read the instructions.

Hi I have a case here that is sort of similar though not exactly the same and i will like to have ur candid and expert opinion.

I played the lottery in 2006 while I was single.I did my traditional marriage/engagement in May 2007 and received a winning notification 4 days later. Now since i have just done the traditional marriage rights at that time I did not include my husband, but applied as single pending my wedding which will make my marriage legal and official. However,I wrote KCC some weeks later and told them about having done my traditional stuff and the upcoming wedding.i told them i choose to send application as single because I am yet to wed and make the marriage legal.they sent a reply to my box telling me that I should send the marriage cert when ready. My wedding took place last month and I have sent a scan copy of the cert to KCC.I also completed the DS 230 for my hubby and sent it along with the marriage cert.My questions:

Do u think the embassy will deny me Visa for not applying as a married person when I got the first NL since I already informed them in my letter that i have done traditional marriage b4 i got the NL.Actually the main reason i aplied as single was bcos i was not wedded yet and my marriage was not documented.Besides,my hubby and I choose to live apart as unmarried persons till we have done our wedding.
NB:My wedding was on Nov 3rd 2007 and thats the date on the marriage certificate sent to KCC.

Do I need to fill ds 230 for myself again since certain details abt me,notably my name has chnged with my marriage?

I think that you'll be fine, since you weren't officially (legally) married at that time. I don't know whether you have to fill out ds230 again.

You are fine, at time of your application you were not married.

Send the correct data via email to KCC. If they need a new DS-230 they will tell you.

I agree with the 2 previous posts. You'lle be fine, as you did not lie when you entered the lottery, you were not married when submitting your application, unlike Bocaroa.
Send you forms again with all the info, and send forms for your husband along with a marriage certificate. It's safer.

Thanks for ur response.i will do just as u said right away.I hope its ok if i send the form only for myself cos i have already. sent one for my husband along with the marriage certificate
