My interview today

My interview was today in Lawrence, MA.

I arrived early, the IO was very polite and courteous, standart procedure to rise my hand and swear. Then asked me for my green card, passport and drivers license. It appears the IO have some patterns of questions, because my questions and civic test was the same as another intervied in the next topic. Here are the questions:

Reading question: When is Columbus day?
Writing: Columbus day is in October

1. What did the Declaration of Independence Do?
2. Name one branch or part of the Govt.?
3. We elect Senators for how many years?
4. If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?
5. What does the President's cabinet do?
6. How many justices are on the Supreme court?

My biggest concern were the trips I did to my country, cause they were almost for 6 months, but the officer just verified the dates and moved on. Asked me other technical questions like arrests, drug or alcohol abuse, have I been communist, nazist or terrorist....I signed the form and after 10 minutes it was over.

To all who have interviews - don't worry at all. Officers are there to help you, not to make your life bad.

Scheduled for an oath on July 25, 2012.

Congratulations, Proxyon.

I must say, though, that all IOs are NOT there to help you. Mine was a total snob, or whatever else you'd like to call her. She was unengaged, uninterested, and I think she had already made up her mind about me. I wouldn't want people here to get complacent by thinking there are absolutely no IOs with whom you need to be on your best behaviour and be immaculately prepared, but with knowledge and documents.

Congrats!!!

BTW, I was asked the same set of questions and same sentences last year in Raleigh-Durham. There is another post with these as well.

Looks like USCIS is using this set quite often :)

Hi Proxyon,

can you please explain your long trips (number of trips and duration),
Also did you had any ties with US while you were gone on trip.

Because I too have a long trip and my interview is in next week, I am bit concerned.

Thanks
