Hi guys, today I did my interview in cairo. After routine questions about my job and my cousin whom I wrote his address and where I intend to stay in us, he told me we have to do some work to your visa you can take your passports, when we finish it we will contact you.
I asked him if there is any number or website to check my status? He said no
I asked him if it is administrative processing he said no. He repeated when we finish we will contact you.
We are family with two children. Please help what is that? What's that suppose to mean?

This is weird and unusual. You are either refused a visa or place on AP.I cant really figure it.

If you don't have an outright approval or denial at the end of your interview, my guess is you're on AP, even if the CO says 'no, you're not on AP'. It is AP (and there are different reasons as to why they put people on AP) if a decision cannot be made following your CP interview. You can monitor and check your case status from the following link:

I think you are right. In addition I found one page on my passport has bended on the corner. That page there's is syirian entry visa. I had been there for three days visiting my friend .Also he kept my original bachelor degree and high school.
The strange thing why he said it is not AP, and why he didn't give coupon or paper explaining my situation? !

Someone else posted recently on another forum - also at the Cairo embassy - and also saying that the officer wanted to verify documents (they also kept the originals) but that they were informed the visa was approved even though they were told they would be informed when to send their passports back. This couple was from Sudan and I assumed it was a case of the officer not being entirely familiar with Sudanese documents.

So while it's unusual for most of us, it's maybe not that unusual at the Cairo embassy for things to proceed like this?

Well, you can go to the CEAC website and see what it says about your visa status.

I am sorry to say it, it sounds strange and frustrating according to what I heard from my friends who had their interviews in the previous years. Therefore It worth to ask, Are you and your wife Egyptians or Palestinians or Sudanese? Is your education certificates issued from Egypt or another country ? Did you have these certificates attested by the M.O.A.? What do you mean by answering the CO that you can't stay in Cairo,Are you going to travel ?
