First of all I want to say thanks to everyone on this forum who have helped me through my naturalization process with your valuble advices.

Today I had my Citizenship interview at the Dallas CIS office. I went in 30 mins earlier to my scheduled interview time and was called in at the exact time written on my notice.

After I was escorted in by the officer I raised my right hand and swore to tell the truth, then was asked to sit down. The female office asked me for my GC, SSN, Drivers license and passport. She then verified my name from GC and last 4 digits of SSN and gave me back everything( she didnot even touch the passports). The officer then went over my application quickly and asked me the YES/NO questions from my N400. After she was finished with the application, she asked me the history and civic questions.
This is what I was asked

To read a sentence and then write a sentence.

How many stars are in the flag?
What is the name of the ship in which piligrims came to US?
What is the name of the president's offical residence?
Who did we fight during the revolutionary war?
What colors are the stripes on the flag?
Another question which I don't remember.

I got them all right and she stopped after 6 questions. That was it.She said I am approved and asked me if I would like to take the oath on the same day at 2 P.M. :D Ofcourse! I said yes. She then gave me two letters one saying that I passed the test and am approved for citizenship and second document has the time, date and place of the oath ceremony. The whole process took 10 mins.

At 2 PM I took the oath and got the Certificate of Naturalization along with other 60 or so people from different countries. The whole ceremony took about 70 mins to complete.

Ye, sound like a cheese cake? I love the same day oath, I think the inventor of this option should become USCIS director instead of uncle Gonzo.

Goodluck for your Passport.

Happy days have just started...

^Uncle Gonzo should really start hand practicing more...

On a serious note, I am noticing alot of same day oath these days.. isnt it?

Thanks :) you guys..

I hope all the other cities start the same day oath too. It's kind of cool. I wrote the same thing and dropped it in suggestion box ( they will open the suggestion boxes. Won't they?)
