my i-94 please help

I left usa in jan 24 and my stay supposed to be ended in jan 31 so i didnot stay behind this peroid,
but in the airport i show the airline agent my i-94 ( the old one and the new one " as i extend my stay and get new one " she take both and went for a while and return me back the new i-94.
i saied you suppose to take it
she saied the immigration officer will take it from you in the gate
in the gate i found no body
i am now worried about failure of re-entry the state in the future when i come back
what shall i do
please help

You still had a few days on your old I-94 right? I believe you should be ok then. Since that was taken away, it will make its way into the system as an "exit" from the US for you. Just to cover all bases, the next time you visit the US, make sure you carry the boarding pass from your last flight out of the US. So that the officer at the POE will have some proof of when you last departed.
