My I-485 EB2 PD: 07/2001 current from today. What to watch for?

Hello all,

As you can seen from signature, My PD is current from today. I would like to know what places to watch for any status changes.

I registered my email ID with USCIS "Portfolio" and hope to recieve status change emails.

What occurs first: Status change on case status web page? email notification? Portfolio LUD change? Lawyer notified first?

Please share your similiar case status changes.

Hopefully, you should receive the approval.......you should check for LUD change first.

Make sure your name check is completed by FBI. Then only USCIS approves 485 when PD becomes current. Good luck.

Hi, My PD is also current from today. Lets keep each other updated on any progress on 485.

I-485 (non-concurrent) RD 8/10/05 EB1 OR
name check and biometrics completed.

Ind77, How does one know if his/her name check is completed? Do we need to enquire with someone? I have completed my fingerprints last yr but not sure if my name check is completed.
I appreciate your respone.

Hopeofgc,

I think you need to enquiry on status of name check now that your RD is way past the current I485 processing date at NSC( June 2005). Please look at this forum for lot more information on name check.

Rather than waiting and hoping they pick up your case, you can be proactive. If you have not done so, initiate a status inquiry about your case by calling the NCS 800 number right away.

Can i initiate a status inquiry at USCIS for name check without PD bieng current? Also, do i need to make an inquiry with fbi as well? Please let me know.

Hi,

My status: (Waiting for 485 approval)

Processing date for 485 in Dallas regional office in Dec 2004.
Does this also need to come current for them to start processing my 485 case.

I did initiate FBI name check status with my local CongressWoman office by sending a FAX to the office on 01/18 and waiting for response.

The uscis number 1-800-375-5283 says the hours of opearation are 8:00AM to 6:00PM. What timezone? Any tips on fruitfull talk with the rep?

I think you can intiate any meaningful enquiry only if both the Priority Dates and Processing dates are current.
 
Initiate through the lawyer

I would suggest you to initiate your inquiry thru your lawyer if you have one.

When I called to initiate an inquiry they sent out a letter saying, it will take blah blah... date to process this type of cases.

But, when my lawyer initiated the inquiry, they looked at my case and sent an RFE. I felt something is better than nothing.

I defenitely feel that inquiry thru lawyer has some more extra point.

Please keep us updated, since I am hoping my PD will become current in March bulletin, and it is more than 60 days since we responded to our RFE.

The time zone is what ever is your time zone.

I am under the same impression as well. We can not initiate inquiry if PD is not current.

hopeofgc, you are right, we can initiate but will be of no use, they may reply us the saying that visa numbers not available.

But for dhamacus it will be good. since his PD become current from yesterday.

Well, again boils down to the same question.......how does one know if the name check is completed or not? We can not wait until PD to become current, then find out that name check is pending?
 
Well guys, my lawyer did a case status enquiry and the USCIS response is to SHUT UP :rolleyes: until the RD becomes current eventhough PD is current.

My RD is end of 10/2004 and the NSC shows the processing RD as May 2004. Although AILA reports processing dates for I-485 for NSC as JULY, 2005 USCIS status inquiry doesn't respect that.

What next? any ideas?

hopeofgc : You are absolutely right, if we sit until our PD or RD become current and then we will for name check etc. Then our case will become old then they will start working on the new cases.

I did take an infopass and found out my name check is still pending. Now I have to do to expedite this process by calling FBI/Senator.
