My I-140 is an NIW case. Can I work for another company after I receive EAD?

My I-485 and I-765 were filed in April and my I-765 is approved according to AVM.
My I-140 is an NIW case which qualifies me as “a person with extraordinary ability”.
I am currently working for a company and my company did not support at all on my I-140 case. My company did not even write a letter for me simply to show INS that I am a good worker. I was very very disappointed at my company.

My question is that because my I-140 is an NIW case and not an employment based case, can I work for another company after my EAD is received?
I heard that 180 days after I-485 filed, a person can work anywhere in USA. Is an NIW case subject to the 180-day rule?
Thank you for your help.

Your research area is bio-medical; sub-categories should not matter.

Partcularly because your new job is in the same hospital, your case is much simplified. INS officers are not that knowledgeable to know about sub-specializations. Even if they are, they need not and do not bother because your new job is also in a NIW area. Talk to another lawyer and get rid of the present lawyer.
