Hello

My H1-B visa expired around 10 years ago. While working I was granted by a SSN card without the tipical note showing “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION.”

Actually my SSN card only shows my number and name.

Questions:

1) What does it mean having a SSN card without the “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION.” message..?

2) Is there any process I should follow to get the green card with this SSN card..?

3) can I lawfully be admitted in the United States using this SSN card only..?

PS.. actually I am living in my country.

Thanks

Yes. Through a sposer you can file labor certification under PERM.

3) can I lawfully be admitted in the United States using this SSN card only..?
SSN is not a VISA or immigration document.

SSN is valid only you have a non immigrant (F,H,L etc visa) or PR, Citizenship

Thanks
