You should have asked your sister to sponsor you. I'd get in touch with her and have he do it anyway even though it takes 9.5 years you might appreciate it 10 years from now :)

Also, there is a law about derivitive citizenship from a parent but not sure about when the parent is dead. I would suggest you research it or wait for one of the knowledgable people here to comment.

my age is 45 , and my father get his us citizen 10 years after my birth

I'm sorry but now since your father passed away, he can't be of any help, since he got his US citizenship after your birth that possibility is out of question also, the only way anybody can sponsor you is your US Citizen sister and that too takes 10 years approximately after and if she files for you.

U.S. Citizenship by Birth or Through Parents

You may already be a U.S. citizen and not know it.

U.S. citizenship can be obtained in one of four ways:

* birth in the United States or its territories
* birth to U.S. citizen parents (called "acquisition" of citizenship)
* naturalization (obtaining citizenship after an application and exam), or
* naturalization of one's parents (called "derivation" of citizenship).

Some people are already U.S. citizens and don't know it. Most of these people fall into one of three groups:

People born in the United States who have lived most of their lives in other countries. If you fall into this category, you may mistakenly believe that your long absence from the country, plus voting or military activities elsewhere, have stripped you of U.S. citizenship. This is not the case.

People who have U.S. citizens in their direct line of ancestry. If your parents or grandparents were U.S. citizens, you may not realize that U.S. citizenship has been passed down the line, even if you were born elsewhere and your parents or grandparents haven't lived in the United States for a long time.

Children of naturalized U.S. citizens. When parents become naturalized U.S. citizens, their minor children with green cards gain U.S. citizenship automatically. (Children under the age of 18 cannot normally apply to become naturalized U.S. citizens.)

You will, however, need to do some research to establish your rights. Here, we'll explore each of the above three possibilities in turn.

Doesn't matter. He wasn't a US citizen when you were born, and you weren't a permanent resident when he naturalized. Sorry.

OP was still a minor child of 10 years when his father got citizenship. Doesn't it automatically transfer to him in that circumstance?

i want to say another thing , my father was divorced from my mother when i was young , then he married us citizen from wich my us sister came later

Why are you leading this poor guy on? He was not a LPR when his dad naturalized, he is not eligible for any benefits from his late father's Nat'z.

It doesn't matter you have a common parent, your father, only your sister can petition for you if she wants as your sibling.

from my search , its complicated case , i cant even get a direct answer , i want also know if i am not a citizen according to my father , does i have the right to enter us or get green card only not to be citizen directly ?

Hi everyone. . . Am a bit confused here. . . I thought as soon as ur dad becomes a USC u are automatically a citizen if u are still under - 18 (or is it under - 21 ?), irrespective of ur place of residence when ur father naturalized. . .somebody pls share more lights on this. Thanks

@ doby , the problem is that my father dead , and all my life i was working in egypt while he was in usa , so i asking if i can enter usa first at least , if i cannot get the citizen directly
