My experienec and some PP stamping questions

My wife and I are going to Newark for PP stamping next Monday. I am currently working on my H1. I do have one expired EAD. Do I have to give that to the officer?

Another question, just a little more complicated.

I filed I140 with company A and five Month later I filed I485 also with them for my wife and me. Half a month after the 485ND, I switched to company B and transferred H1 to under company B. My wife's H4 was also renewed due to the first 3 years was about to expire, and the receipt numbers changed from EAC-xxx to SRC-xxx since the new company belongs to TSC.

Then, another five month after switching to company B I went back to company A and transferred my H1 back to under company A (receipt # became EAC-xxx again). However at the same time, my lawyer told us that my wife's H4 was still good since officially it was independent of any company.

I got my I140 approved six months later and my I485 approved 23 months later. I am still working in company A and still use my H1 with them, and the H1 receipt number starts with EAC.

We never filed AC21 since it doesn't apply to us. Company A sponsored all my applications and I am still with them, although there was a five-month interruption.

My question is: When my wife and I surrender our H class documents during stamping, will the difference in receipt numbers of my H1 and her H4 cause any problems since they came from two different service centers?

My understanding is that sometimes they ask for these and sometimes they don't. I just read a post where somebody's lawyer said "don't bother bringing your H / EAD as they aren't required for stamping, but be sure to destroy those so they don't end up in someone else's hands".

Personally, I'd bring anything that you think they might ask for just in case, but you obviously don't have to offer them anything unless they ask for it...

And, if I can use your thread to post a question of my own which might impact both of us...

When one's I-485 is approved, is it necessary to tell the Human Resources people at work that your H/L visa / EAD etc. is no longer valid?
