My EB-485 approved, wife's in limbo

Hi I have filed my I-485 in oct-2004 with EB-3 PD of Nov-2003.

I could not file for my wife due to retrogression soon after in Jan 2004.

July2/July17th is the first date my wife was eligible to file her EB-485.

We filed her 485 on 19th and USCIS received it on 20th.

I got an approval notice in snail mail with a July 23rd notice date.

Also received physical card saying resident since July 2nd.

Any body in a similar boat?

Any thoughts on what the fate of my wife's application and course of action from my side?

If your spouse's reciept date preceeds you approval date everything is fine.
If she was on H4 and her case was not filed before your approval, she might be out of status, she will have to leave the country and apply for follow to join at an oversease counsulate, this of course requires visa number being avaliable.
 
Exactly same situation

I am in exactly same situation. I got my 485 approval email which I had filed in 2004. My attorney has already mailed my wife 485 application on 2nd July. I did little bit of research and we should be ok as long as we filed i-485 for wife. I am anxiously waiting for my wife 485 receipt notice. My wife was/is on h4 but according to various websites her status is AOS as application is filed even though we don’t have receipt notice.

Search for user Mohitfl on this forum. He is also in same situation, so are lot of other users.

Please update your case as soon as you receive the receipt notice for your wife. I have also taken appointment with Rajiv Khanna office tomorrow for consultation. I am thinking of sending 2nd application as backup for her as my attorney has not given us any FedEx tracking number.
 
in the same boat as the rest of the people on this thread. They are begining to cash checks for ppl filed July 2nd. The next week to 2 weeks might bring us the receipt notices..

order of AOS case adjudication

Assuming we get receipts for our spouse 485's. How does USCIS decide which case to pick up first, would it be based on RD OR would the case get priority over other cases since the primary applicant has been approved? Any memos, opinions around this?
