Hello friends
I passed my citizenship interview today. The immigration officer was extremely nice. My name was called and I followed him into his office. I was asked to take the oath first. I told him about some of the corrections which I wanted to make in my N-400 application. He said we can do so while going over all the questions.
1. I was asked to show all my passports/GC/DL. I handed over all my Travel Docs/GC/DL. No question about NP.
2. Then officer went through every single entry on my application including those yes/no questions.
3. When it came to visiting foreign countries related question, officer enquired if neighboring country was the only country which I visited during last 5 years. He asked me twice if I visited my COP. He did check every single page of my travel documents. Finally in a very happy mood, he returned my travel docs while saying “True asylee … who didn’t visit COP since the grant of the asylum”.
4. No I-589 or I-485 related questions.
5. I asked the officer if I need to put a cross mark against arrests question because of my COP related arrests and another cross mark against removal proceedings question since my I-589 was approved by an immi Judge. He added the arrest information into the form but I was told that there was no need to add removal proceeding related info since my asylum was granted and I was pulled out of any such thing.
6. Then American History, English Reading/Writing questions.
7. I was told to sign on my pics.
That’s it!! It took less than 20 minutes. I was told that my application is being approved.
I was handed over a letter showing two check marks.
1. Passed English/History related questions
2. N-400 recommended for Approval.
I was told that I will recieve my oath letter within 30/60 days.
Thanks Guys .....I am not typing any names today because 'all of you' are so important.....all of you tried your best to help the forum members in the best possible way.... thanks for being a great motivation and source of information in this long journey....And I would also like to thank Rajiv S Khanna for comming up with such a great forum .... Good luck to every body else
