My case transfered to Baltimore

I came to know that my case has been transferred to the local INS office(Baltimore). I called couple of friends who were in the same ND\'s and all cases have been transferred to the Local INS. I am not sure it is good or bad? any comments......

My ND is 12/12/2001...

How do we know if our case is transfered to local INS.

Do we recive any notification, or the AVM says that.

Thanks for your reply.

Nobody can say for sure. We came to believe that applications are being transferred to Baltimore (or other local offices) if applicants live near that office...

Mine was also transferred last 4/24/01 and my ND is 10/12/00
and FP is 12/26/00. What are your details?

Anyway, I saw one case here and also a friend of mine that
after 2-3 months of being transferred to Baltimore were
interviewed and got immediate approval after the interview.
Still, it\'s a case to case basis. Some are still waiting
for their approval after already been interviewed. We are
hopoing for the first...

A number of visitors here were also transferred to Baltimore.
We really don\'t know the real situation. If a lot of cases
are being transferred then it may take longer too due to
increase in their workloads...

Goodluck to us all!

Regarding I485 transfers to baltimore:
a lot of these cases are coming up...heard of few more friends who recently got the same news. My details ND 12/2000....FP 4/26/2001...transfer date= 05/18/2001; category= EB2
Guess what i called up the baltimore center = they said current wait time anywhere upto 14 mths. Talked to my lawyer, she says that is what she has been hearing too especially residents of MD are being sent notices for transfer of their cases to Baltimore; a friend in virginia recently got approved without needing to interview !
All this only means that workload will definitely pile up and slow down the process for MD folks waiting to interview at baltimore.
Not a Happy situation at all !!!

what...wait time is 14 months..oh god 485 after 3 years from the date of application..i think this is becoming really crazy..i think all the november and december cases are transfered to local INS...and of late..when my friend went for FP they were informing all the people that the case will be transfered to local INS...

Let\'s hope NOT.

I think they mean from start of application and not
another 14 months since transfer.

I have a close friend and another person on this site who
were interviewed less than 3 months after their cases were
transferred to Baltimore and then got immediate approval
after their interview.

Of course, I can not say this is true for all. I am hoping
for the best though. It is still depends on the officer
conducting the interview. I see 2 visitors of this site
who are still awaiting approval after already been interviewed!

I agree with you, I also fear that it may take longer this
time since I have been seeing several transfers to Baltimore.
My brother-in-law from Virginia with ND 11/00 and FP 2/01 has
not heard anything from INS saying his case was transferred.
Maybe he won\'t.

Goodluck to us all!

P.S. Can you share INS Baltimore Office telephone number? Thanks!

Called INS: AVM gave "Case not found" message, talked to IIO, said the case is transfered to the local office and it is out of their systems now. RD: 12/22/00, ND: 01/03/01, FP: 4/26/01. I guess it was transfered last week.

Well it seems that INS transfer cases in bunch...
they sort first then transfer in bunches. I believe
they don\'t transfer cases everyday to one office, by
schedule maybe.

Like in my case, my case was transferred last 4/27/01.
There are about 5 or 6 others who were also transferred
to Baltimore and all are regular visitors of this site.
I am still waiting for interview notice...

I suggest you try to keep in touch with other applicants
who got transferred on same date as you are.

Goodluck,
