Dear Friends:

My FP: Oct, 27 2001
On Jun, 3 2002. I receive Notice from Nebraska tell me that my case has been transfered to Chicago Local Office. Can anyone tell me what happy after that?

Also, my H1B Visa will expire on Oct 10, 2002. If I still do not hear anything from chicago local office, do I need to renew my H1B visa ?

Thank you advance for your advise!

why don't you apply for an EAD? that's easier I think.

For your case, you can contact a local congressman's office and they might help you.

If you plan to stay on H-1, you need to renew soon since it takes 90 days or more. EAD is an option but that will take 90 days too. If you go on EAD and actually use it you H-1 will become invalid and will not be a back-up for the I-485 in case there are problems.
Either way, it will take longer that 3 month for the I-485 approval. My case was transfered on march 8th and had the interview and approval on july 17th., and this was in columbus. Chicago takes longer. I renewed my H-1 in Feb that was expiring on june 15th. Good luck. Transfer cases are usually approved without any problems.
