My brother's court date is Friday.....

Hi I am new here and did several searches but could not find any relevant info to my question.

My brother has been detained by Homeland Security for a couple weeks now at their facility in Miami. He has been living in the states since he was 2 years old and is now 27.

A few years ago he "borrowed" one of my grandmother's percocet (prescription pain killer drug). Anyway he had this 1 tablet and was pulled over and the cops, they found it on him and to make a long story short he had to go to court and I believe he got probation or something like that. Well upon renewing his green card recently it turns out the the way it was written by the court or as immigration sees it, his charge was with the "intent to sell". It was an obvious mistake as he had only 1 pill and so we hired a lawyer who reopend the case and got documention saying he just had the one pill (No intent to sell). The lawyer will now go to court with my brother this Friday and plead his case with the court.

Does anyone see an issues with him being set free? Also my main reason for this post is that I have to write a letter to the court that states I know him and he is of good morale character etc. Anyone have a sample letter so I know what to cover?

Thanks!

What court are you talking about? Civil or immigration court? The immigration judge's job is strictly immigration related so I think your brother's case must be resolved first fo you to get a favorable response.
