I applied for Asylum in USA after i married an american woman after that situation in my country became dangerous for her and she can't come back with me and because she can't sponsor me(she dose not work) i applied for asylum and i did the fingerprint and waited for the interview letter when two months pass i contact the office asking why i take so long , they told me i did not show up for the interview !!! and the reopen my case !!!!!! i wrote them back that i am sorry but i did not receive and letter after the fingerprint and i was waiting for that letter !!! but they did not answer me then after another month i contact them it was the same now it i almost 5 months and i want to apply for EAD but i read something scare me that if i did not show up for the interview i am not eligible for EAD !!? it sounds very strange to me that if you did nit show up for fingerprint they just stop the clock for the 150 day but if you miss the interview which i did not because i did not get any mail for m them you are not eligible at all that dose not sound fair ,ANy advices or similer stories ? Thank you

I am sorry to hear that! Are you on status or out of status? if you're out of states I believe in such cases (if you don't show up on scheduled interview ) they refer your case to the immigration court, you can call 1-800-898-7180 or 240-314-1500 which is an automated phone system, when directed by the voice prompt, enter the 9 digits (but not the letter A) to retrieve case information. If your A number has 8 digits, enter zero (0) followed by the 8 digits.(This number is printed on your fingerprint notice letter)

Your American wife's inability to live in your country is NOT a ground to base YOUR asylum case on. Did you use an attorney or did you leave out some important details in your post?

Thank you BigJoe, well i think i did mistake when i applied for that asylum i thought it will be faster than green card !!any way do you think i can apply For Green card now ?and answering your Question no i did not have lawyer yet , and i will look for that form I-864 thank you again .
