At what stage had your case reached? If your case was withdrawn at an immigration office, then you will probably receive a letter directing you to leave the country by a specific date. However, if your case had already been refereed to an Immigration Judge, then there are two options; 1. voluntary departure and 2. deportation. Based on your question, i think you are in deportation proceeding, so the Judge will make a ruling to deport you and proceed to hand over the case to the government (border security/immigration) who will retain your passport and inform you through mail/phone when your next flight is available. So you will work with their timelines, this is due to security issues and availability of a flight back to your country.
