My 485 Approved

My 485 was approved on 3/3/2005. Was traveling and just got to know the approval. Please see signature for details.

Worked for the same company all through. Started RIR process in April 2001. Got NOID during Labor certification for 'prevailing wage'. Labor was approved after two long years. Got RFE during I-140 for company's ability to pay. Then got stuck in the FBI name check for 17 months. Sought senator's, congressman's help. Nothing worked. Applied for 3rd EAD , 3rd AP.

Applied for FOIPA with FBI. attached the 'No records found' response from FBI and sent letters to FBI requesting to help clear the name check. By God's Grace, FBI replied they cleared my name check on Feb 7, 2005. After a few days, spouse and child also received their FP notices. Their FP is scheduled for March 26. I hope and pray their 485 will also be cleared soon after their FP.

I accidentally came to know about the name check process and landed on Rahul Kumar's thread about expediting name check. I followed his suggestions and that was a turning point.

i have benefitted immensely from this forum. Will be glad to answer questions.

My 485 is stuck in Name Check. I sent an expedite request to FBI with "No Records Response" recently. Could you please let me know how long it took for your Name Check to be cleared after you sent the expedite request ? Also, did you fax the request or sent it by postal mail ?

How to expediting our name check

Congratulation!

Can you share your name check experience with us. My name check pending since 2003.
We filed our I-485 application at April 2003, until now our name check still pending at FBI. It is more than 20 months.

I really need help to find a way to expedit my name check.

I wrote letters to Mr.Hardy and Hooton and sent by regular postal certified mail. I expressed in the letter that the inordinate delay of 17 months is causing enormous tension and ongoing mental stress for the whole family.

Although I tried Senator and Congressman's offices, that has not been of much help.
 
Can i ask did you get any email response from Mr.Hardy or Hooton, or neither of them before you know your name check done.

Which one you think more helpful and how do you think write letter to Hoolton, is that going to expedite my name check or will get less chance to expedite my name check regarding to Rahul's name check experience thread.

The e-mail response was from <FBINNCP@ic.fbi.gov>

Mr.Hooton is Mr.Hardy's boss. So, write first to Mr.Hardy, and if no response, then write to Mr.Hooton. In all your correspondence, consciously be extremely polite.

where did u send the letter to? which address?
I sent it by UPS to

but it has been redirected to their MD office. Is this normal, pl. reply.

when I called UPS about the delivery of the package they said they do not receive any mails at 935 Pennsylvania ave, all mails will be redirected to 2400 schuders dr ... some address, they check there and redirect usually(as part of security)

So they received my mail today. when do you think I can expect for some reply?

If you are lucky you can get a reply in two weeks time. It could take longer.
