Did not quite get your post.

Does it mean people who have lived in US for past two years HAVE to get it from US or it means CAN ALSO get it from US?

It would be nice if you can post the email reply.

WEll HEre is what my brother found out

My Brother went to American Counsulate in Mumbai and Asked from where one has to get the PCC is the applicants are residing in USA for a period > 2 Years

Their reply was for applicants residing > 2 years in USA get it from Indian Counsulate in USA....
For other get it from Indian Regional Passport office in India...

Here is what I think,
If you have been here for more than 2 years get it from USA
If your spouse has been only in India get it from India
If you have been here for less than a year(Joke we wont get green cards then can we !!!) get it from Both Places...
 
PCC from NYCG

Guys, Any one got PCC from NewYork CG? Any idea how many days it takes for NewYork CG to give PCC?

The reason I am asking you this question is, I have applied for PCC in NY but it is next to impossible that I will get it before my interview (2nd Jan) and definitely not before I leave which is mostly next week.

I am planning to get it from India from the regional passport office once I reach India. I know I am not going to get it before interview, but atleast if I can get it before I come back, then also its fine.

So, if consulate wants us to HAVE it from US then I think I am in a mess. But if it is "CAN ALSO" thing, then I should be okay.

this shoul;d be oke to get it from India also.

as..the base iswe are immigrating and one immigrant has to show thathehas a lean record for the places he ha lived n in. so in our case USA and india are the places.

and thye already have or can collect info about u from US authorities. so what is left is India.

so do not worry.

and further also.when u apply for clearance in US at indian consulate. they issue to you pCC once thy get clearanc from india only.

so one ans the same process/thing, even if you get it from India.

If the passport is issued in NY , it will take just one day .
Else it takes anywhere from 30-45 days.
