Hi

I am currently working with a company which has been promising to file for my green card for the past 2 years and has not done so. My h1B status expires in November 2006 and now my friend running another consultancy is willing to file my labor. My question is if he files a labor for me, can my current company also file a new labor for me ???

Also would this cause problems later if I choose to remain with my current company ? Do I have to say anywhere (in the forms or any statements) in furtue GC status reg the labor being filed by my friend ?

Thanks

This is my opinion and I am not a lawyer.

There is no problem with filing multiple LCs. The only suggestion I will give to you is to make sure that your friend's company has enough ability to pay the proferred wages. This is significant as in your post you have mentioned that you are not going to join your friend's company. In this case, that company needs to show that they have enough ability to pay you the whole amount of LC wage. I am trying to warn you as I made some what similar mistake 3 years back and now I am suffering due to that. For more details on 'ability to pay' issue, see the thread:

Hope it will help you in making a decision. Best of luck!

Multiple LCs.

Hi,

I work for a telecom company and I've filed my Labor Certification from
my present employer and I want to file another labor from a second company
Would this cause any problems in the future ?

and the other is my H1 expires in March 2006. Can I extend my H1 for 7th year in both the cases ? Lets say i want to join the second company six months from now, can i file then and extend it in the future ? or do i have to file another H1 from my second company now ?

Please help me ...

Filing another LC from a different employer is not a problem. Only concern should be that that other employer has enough ability to pay from day of filing LC (read my reply above).
You can extend 7th year in both the cases.
You do not need to file another H1 from second company now, you can file a transfer after 6 months and then extend it for 7th year when needed.
