Hi guys you opinions please.
My sister who is a U.S. citizen filed an I-130 petition for me when I was in India and it was approved in 1996. The priority date for that catergory is 1991 right now.
In the mean time I came to U.S. on a H1B and filed for GC and am now in I-485 stage for 19 months and changed jobs using AC21 but did not inform employer as per lawyers advice.
Even though I know that 99.99 % I will get GC thru employment,
you never know. Since my Dad has since then become a U.S. citizen a couple of years ago, I wanted him to file an I-130 for me... you know keeping all options open. However my company lawyer has concerns regarding this. She also doesn't know that I already have an approved I-130 from my sister. She wants to meet me tomorrow and I will tell her then.
What do you guys say ? Is there anything to be concerned about ? I think whichever GC comes first, you should be able to withdraw the remaining petitions. Your feedback is appreciated.
