Multiple 485s

Last year, I filed for 485 in Northern California through my wife (she is a citizen) and my employer. Subsequently, I received EAD\'s from both the applications. Now, I\'ve received a Finger Printing notice for the application through my employer. Here are my questions:

1. How long can I continue to pursue my GC through both the sources?

2. If I\'ve to give up one of the two applications, which one would you recommend leaving?

3. Does anyone have an idea of how long it would take to complete the GC process for the application through my wife.

INS is still in limbo...

I was under the impression that INS automatically abandons the earlier 485 application when you file the second.
However, at the 485 stage, it does not make any difference between family based or employment based application. At this stage it is based on the receipt date (which is the new priority date in some SCs).
My guess would be the one for which you received FP.
You could have changed one of the cases for CP, and that would have been on a different race track and may be you would have gotten the approval by now.
