I got to the office 45 mins before my scheduled time, handed in my NOA and sat down. 10 mins later I was called in. Swore to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth outside the office before I could go in and sit down. The officer was very professional, no smiles, nothing. Asked me questions about any affiliations to any parties or terrorist, asked if I use drugs, an alchoholic, been in trouble with the police or courts, do i pay my atxes every year, do i owe the Fed Govt. money, did i bring anybody into the US illegally etc. Answer was NO NO NO and NO!!
Gave me a sheet of paper with 3 sentences and asked me to read the first one. "George Washington was the 1st President of the United States.
Gave me another paper and asked me to write "We elect the president in November.
I passed both tests.
Asked 6 civil questions:
1. How many members are in the House of Rep: 435 (answer)
2. How many years do we elect a Representative: 2 (answer)
3. What war was fought in the 1800s: Civil War (answer)
4. When do we elect a President: November (answer)
5. Who was the first president: G. Washingnton (answer)
6. Why did the Pilgrims come to America: Freedom (one of the many answers)

I answered all 6 questions correctly. I thought my interview was over but I was wrong. I sat in that office for the next 15 mins in total silence. He wasn't saying anything just going through my file. Then...BOOM!! he asked me a question about something I'd said 3 years ago to an immigration officer at the airport when I was returning from a trip. I was able to explain what i meant. But I never imagined that it would be brought up or even put in my file. So be careful what you say to the officers at the airport. it might come back to haunt you.
End of story, my interviewer said Congratulations, you are approved for Citizenship. Can you come back at 3 for the oath swearing and i said yes.
I'm now a citizen.:o
Best of luck to everybody
