Moving to US with girlfriend - each of us qualify for TN1

Hi there,
I am a Canadian citizen and currently live with my girlfriend in Toronto (we are both qualified accountants). If we both qualify for TN1 visas based on respective US job offers is there any risk/implications should we cross the border together to obtain our respective TN1s with the intention of living together in the US (plan would be to drive across the border with our household items)?

Also, should we decide to return to Canada to get married during the initial, say 3 yr term of our TN1s, would any complications arise? Would either of us need to file for a new TN1 (particularly her if her legal name has changed)? Any other concerns that may arise?

Thanks in advance for you comments.

No complications. Of course, it would be best to secure your TN(s) before hauling your stuff. The risk is if one of you is denied, they may not let that one in, because they would no longer qualify as tourists (since you are obviously moving). That is a risk anyone applying for TN faces, let alone when 2 of you are applying for the first time. There is often a hiccup with something or other.

Absolutely, there is no complications on your TN Visa. But, before you apply, You can read the instructions given by the USCIS or Consult an immigration lawyer , that may decreases the risk of getting denial of your TN.
