Moving to the US from Canada

I am a 17 year old Canadian Citizen currently, but will be 18 next year when I
move to the US. In order for me to be able to live in the US long-term (several years or even permanently) and also be able to work, what requirements would I need in terms of visas, age, education...etc? And what kind of forms would I need to fill out? I have no clue in this whatsoever... haha..

You can't simply walk across the border and seek a job. You should have a job offer in an specialized area of expertise that allows you to seek a TN visa. Most TN jobs need a college degree and prior experience in related fields.
 
America is not an easy country to get into (legally), and that's even for many overqualified people from elsewhere. You are trivializing the process if you think just because you can learn more about the country's history, you can just settle down like that.
Unfortunately life is not always fair. Maybe if you work up the success in Canada first, the reality may hit for you.
 
Go to the American ambassy in Canada and get information the information you need to come here legally...Best of luck!
 
latest news....anyone heard it

Americans and Canadians will now require a passport to cross between the USA and Canada.
