Moving to faster processing DO (or other DO)causes delay?

Hi Friend

Registered Users (C)
Friends,

I am ready to move to atlanta, GA from charlotte, NC on new job & need to go thru adress change and all of that. On other thread I found info like there is a possibility of 3 to 4 months dealy thru this kind of move. If Any of u face that problem, please post here. In general, Atlanta-DO is much faster than charlotte-NC. Thanx..

The 3 month delay is not really a delay, it is the mandatory residency period that every applicant has to have in his local area before mailing . Search other threads in this forum, it has been dealt with before.

The 3 month residency requirement is prior to filing per 8 cfr 316 (5). I haven't seen any regulations that this also applies after a move.

Thanx bob..
My bad..I supposed to tell clearly.
Yes. I already applied & done with FP in charlotte. NC, now thinking about
change address to Atlanta, GA because of New job there from this month23rd.
So, trying to figure out about any possible dealy thru this kind of move.
If anybody experienced that delay because of move after FP done or at the middle of process, want to know. thanx..

Friends,

I started this thread 3 days back and so far did not see any postings about
delay thru moving at the middle and good news is,
Just now I talked to IO also and she said, If I move to atlanta this 23rd, more chances to get interview before end of JULY, because Atlanta is with 9 month processing time. and she also mentioned clearly, 3months @ local DO is requirement only for send out N400. It is not required, if we move at the middle after FP done like me thru valied reason for job, we immediately fall under that DO processing timings.
She said to followup with local Atlanta, DO immediately after done with address change. Accoding to her words, I have more & more chances to get interview real quick.thanx..

The problem is whether they will ask you for proof of change of address during the interview or not.
Try, and people will learn from your experience

I have new offer letter for job in atlanta, apartment rental agreement from this month 23rd in hand and I gonna do change of address online this month 23 rd...what other proof we need, even they ask ? ...thanx..

I guess when you move you'll get a drivers license from your new State, so that will help too. I think you should be fine. Moving can cause delays because USCIS has to coordinate internally to send your file and interview invitation to your new place, however, if you move from a long processing place to a short processing place you might actually see a speed up of your processing.

My 2 cents. Good luck.
