moving from industry to academic job

Dear all,

I have a question regarding changing jobs while I485 is pending.

I know that the new job should have the same description of the old job based on which RIR is aproved. But what if the change is from industry to academic (as an assistant professor). Should that be an issue. Anybody has similar experience?

Are elementary school teacher and assistant prof similiar jobs in terms of AC21?
 
Mr. Algizawi,

I have moved from industry to Academic from Sr Developer to staff and invoked ACT 21. My I -485 got arrpoved but you have to get letter from your institution mentioning same duties as mentioned in the approved labour because your title is changed.

I think it won't be a problem I guess.

With new titie and same duties as in labour shold require and industry change will not affect your I -485 process.
