Moving Between States while waiting for oath

I have already finished my interview in Texas, and I am waiting for my oath ceremony now. Does anybody know how much delay it will cause if I move to another state and do an address change before my oath?

I'd try to keep a TX residence as long as possible - for example, find out how long you can keep your TX drivers license in your new state.

I agree with both Boatbod and Flydog. However, perhaps one small point of clarification. I believe that the the 3 month State residency is required before application can be made. Thus, moving after interview probably does not violate this requirement (???).

However, clearly delays will be introduced anyway so its best to maintain Texas residency somehow if at all possible.

If not, you will have to "eat" the delay which possibly will not be as bad as if you moved during namecheck/security background.

And, it is not one of the questions on the back of the N-445. At my oath ceremony the only questions I was asked were along the lines of "have you got your GC and your oath letter?" and "did you fill in and sign the letter today?"

I don't remember if I had to show my drivers license. If they don't ask the question, remember, don't answer it.

Hard to say for definite, but bear in mind the DO usually has to have jurisdiction over the case, and for this to be true, you must live in their district. However, I do recall that you don't have to show your drivers license for oath, so maybe you'll be lucky.

All the discussions here are very helpful.

Does anybody know how many days a driver's licence can be used in another state? What if somebody just stays in a state like for one month temporarily for some businese purpose? I don't think he / she needs to do anything on the driver's licence iin this case.

Thanks.

It can be used indefinitely, provided your place of abode has not changed. i.e. if you lived in Virginia and were placed on long-term assignment in California, you could still keep your VA license if you still maintained a place of residence there.

Otherwise, I believe the usual requirement (which may vary by state) is 30 days.
