Movement To Cure Retrogression

Letter

Does anyone know how were these issues solved in the past?
What did people do? e.g. letters????what format?????
should it be as many pages as we wish or just 1 Page?
please come up with ideas

In this Forum I have seen a letter regarding GC labor problems, I think that is the best one to start with.

Letter

I think we can also refer to those 485 Pending Petition
where people started with a letter
I think there is a thread for that

End of Retro.. if both we and EMPLOYERS try

Friends,

We all know that we are (Tech Guys) in big trouble. So let us STOP predicting what could happen by just sitting. We have to give our best shot and we will win.

Oneside we have to try ourself and otherside we have to get support from our EMPLOYERS. In present situation without EMPLYERS support it is very difficult ot win.

Please talk to your EMPLOYERS and ask them to send letters/email to Congress.

Guys what you think..

Definitely they will not remove Visa Number limits on India (China and Phillipines). I am from Inida/EB3. We have limits becuase we are from countries where high immigration is from. US immigration is all about level playing field and diversity. Feasible points would be

1) Use unsued VISA number from other treaties like (singaporeans and others FTA countries have some chunk reserved for them due to FTA and stuff). Not sure if unused ones form there are recliamed to be used for general punlic, but would be better if they can be reclaimed.

2) Guys with PD's >n years should be not be subject to VISA number availability or atleast should be put in front of queue when VISA number become available.

3) Guys should not be stuck in administrative delays for a long long time or name check delays for more than a certain period. If stuck in such delays for >n years should be a given a temp GC (with conditions that should be renewed every year till they get a permamanet one).

4) Guys who filed AOS should be able to file AOS for dependents even if VISA number are unavailable.

5) May be unsued diversity lottery numbers can be reclaimed or reduced.

6) Remove GC conditions (should stay with employer for certain period after GC and such) if the GC has been stuck >n years.

7) Guys in EB3 for instance stuck in the process for >n years and who in the mean time achieved MS or accrued >m years experience can be promoted to EB2 or recliam EB2 unused numbers for them. Same for any EB# category.

Well GC is a privelige not a right, even if you are subjected to senseless delays and inconvenience. But above points (if they make sense and meaning) atleast would mitigate the huge grief they sometimes inflict because you are dead stuck in the process and has huge impact on career, family plans and in general life. Life is not all about GC.

I am also in same situation

but on broken nebraska boat. Dont know when will it sink. Any steps to save all of us is supported and encouraged. I will ask two of my collegues to join if you guys come up with a plan. Also I should say this link is difficult to reach. So it is better to save the link and send it to all those who are sinking. and post it in links like sulekha.com etc.

How about AILA ?

Wouldn't the american immigration lawyers association (AILA?) be doing something to make immigration process easier? Probably it is a good idea to team up and associate with them.

I also like the idea of getting employers to raise the isssue with senators or congressmen. I don't know how many employers would be keen, especially the consulting companies.

Best of Luck everybody...
