also the port of entry & date of entry are the Last ones and not the first ones, right?
I have asked these question to my attorney who has gone on vacation and his secretary can't ask these questions to any other
legal asst or any other attorneys..
By the way, would Indiana come under NSC area ?

800-375-5283 it worked like a charm. person on the other side of phone was very good to speak.
I am in the US as H1 visa while my wife has passed her stay as H4 and she is on EAD. I wrote it to be adjustment pending. and I 485 pending.
Since I still have h1 validation for around one year, I wrote it to be till it is valid, although wrote it to be as 485 pending for my wife.
Port of entry should be the last one as described on I94 (stapled to the passport).
I sent AR 11 through fedex overnight.
Indiana is under NSC, but mostly my case will not be changed as it is a very old case close to be approved (i tell you, i feel good while even thinking of this word (approval)).

are you sure that your case will not be moved to NSC? I was contemplating a move to boston few months ago and my lawyer stated that if I do that my case will be moved to the Vermont service center. luckily I didn't have to move. Please let me know if you have done some research on this issue and are sure that the case will not be transferred.

Transfer not necessary
I have some experience in this matter.
I have moved to OH a year after I filed my I485 at TSC. At that time my lawyer wrote to TSC to request my case transfer to NSC, but nothing has come of it. When I spoke to the IIO, they said they will transfer the case only if NSC requests for it. Basically it is a loop.
Dont believe your lawyer if theysay they can get your case transferred. Atleast my lawyer could not get it done and I ended up shelling out a bunch of money for it.
I think there are no formal processes for transfers between service centers. Most likely your application will stay at the service center where it is filed.

My lawyer is saying that I should get it done any way. Sometimes NSC calls on phone or wants to communicate through mail. At this time post office sends the mail back to NSC saying that you were not present. That is not a good thing to happen.

When I called the 800 number to change address in my I-485 petition, he said that BCIS would send a confirmation letter about it!!! This is the first time I have heard that! Did you get any "confirmation" letter for your address change?
BTW, when I asked when it would be approved, he gave the standard answer "... processing 11/2000 cases ... takes 33 months ... you've to wait till that time ...".

IIO told me a similar story about three weeks to send a confirmation. My address change is a very new case and i have not received any confirmation yet.
Mine is a typical failure story, where nothing is hapenning. My AP (third one) is pending since beginning of march 03 and also not got approved. I 485 is pending since May 01 and I want to get over with it.

Address Change
Spoke to 'somebody' (definitely not an IIO as these guys don;t even have access to the INS database ... the lady who answered actually read out the online status) on the 1-800 number.
She said we would receive a confirmation letter in about 4 weeks.
That way it works I believe is the folks answering the 1-800 numbers take down all your information (it could be a status query or address change or any such inquiry) and send an email to the respective service center. The service center then sends out a confirmation letter stating that the request has been received (note .. they only acknowledge the request.. whether they go on to fulfil the request is another matter altogether ... all contributors on this board will vouch that they do NOT !!).
Just my 2 cents.

- People will recall this web site's advice to the BCIS that the centralization of phone inquiry for Service Center cases was premature and would not serve the public interest in that it would create more works (man-hour) with the resulting disservice to the consumers. Unfortunately, this is exactly what has been happening. Probably this reporter is not the only one who has experienced 100% negative services by the contractors of NCSC who were rude and even hang up the phone while the reporter was addressing the issues. Besides, the inquiries which had been forwarded to the relevant Service Center usually ended up in sending out the notice that the inquiry had been received. It all happened after one month or so. Now, people wonder what this system serves. It is a total waste of tax money and a tremendous disservice to the constituents and consumers.
- Now immigrant community organizations including the AILA have pull together their voices and sent a letter to the Director of BCIS demanding to return to the old system. This reporter joins whole-heartedly these voices and urges the BCIS to immediately take an action before it gets further political back-fire. Hi, tammy2. I had a concurrent-filing I-140/485, and did not have a A# at that time. But I got a A# when I received EAD. Do you think the A# in EAD is applicable to AR11?

Just wanted to let you guys know that I received a letter from the 'Department of Homeland Security' stating that they had been notified of an address change and that the change had been effected.
I had sent out the AR-11 forms (separately for me and my wife) and also called the 1-800 # and informed about the change for each of us individually (2 separate calls).
Besides the fact that they acknowledged and sent me a letter within 10 days, another interesting fact was that they sent the letters for me and my wife in the same envelope. Atleast, as per the current scenario, our applications (or cases) seem to be together (or atleast they seem to know that we both are related .. primary and beneficiary).
So, in other words, they do seem to have a process in place and it seemed to work in this case !

Had you filed you AR-11 forms before you called the 1-800# ?
