I have told you a number of times that chances of being granted asylum at this late stage are very slim.

I certainly hope whatever proposal President Bush will make later this month will help you.

Even in the good old days winning a motion to reopen was an uphill battle. And now it is almost impossible--all the more "liberal" BIA members have been dropped.

I do not really think you have any choice but to persist in the federal court system. But understand that the odds are very much against you.

The consolation is that there are millions and millions in the country without a firm legal status. My own guess is sooner or later they will have to resolve this.

Care2much my uncle also got denied and he has taken his case to the supreme court(for some hefty fee) through a lawyer. Not that it gets you anywhere..It just prolongs the case and hopefully by that time there is some change in the law that could make his status permanent here...

The last resort for you would be to become Illegal...I know bad advice but if you dont want to leave this country, you should start planning....My uncle has bought a place under my other uncle's name and he works and generates his income from there..

I think, yess I need to start planinng my future,I need to be prepared for the worst .
I do appreciate any help and word of advice.

President Bush will deliver what is called "major" immigration reform proposals this coming Wednesday. Hopefully they would help people like you.

For those who are intersted in what Gilbert is talking about.

Bush to Seek Immigrant Benefit Protection

Plan to Include System Enabling Undocumented Workers to Gain Legal Status

CRAWFORD, Tex., Jan. 3 -- President Bush will propose protections for the
Social Security taxes paid by the workers who would come into the country
under massive changes to immigration laws he plans to announce on Wednesday,
Republican officials said Saturday.

Immigration reform is a top priority of Bush's backers in the business
community. Daniel T. Griswold, an immigration expert at the
free-enterprise-oriented Cato Institute, called Bush's proposal
"compassionate conservatism at its best -- a market-driven approach allowing
supply and demand to get together in the labor market."
