Hi,
My mother has a 10 yr multiple B1 visa. She has never been here. She is planning on visiting here in early or late Dec and will stay for 5-6 months.
1) Shall we buy a ticket for 5 months and 3 weeks? Or shall we buy an open ticket for 6 months? The reason I am asking is that the immigration officer at JFK is the main guy. Is it a gurantee that he 'll allow her to stay for 6 months?
2) If she wants to leave early then we'll change the tickets.
3) Insurance- Any word on getting insurance? What to get? Where to get it from- India or here? She's in good health. What do most people get coverage on in case you might know what the general trend is?
4) Suppose she visits from Dec 15, '08- June 15, 09, does she have to wait for exactly six months before visiting again? (It's kind of a pain to come in Dec but what to do, she's never been here. Next visit would have to be after 8-9 months, in Mar/Apr 2010)
Thank you.
