Hi,
Please help Guru.
My mom is here on visitor visa. We had applied for the Canadian visa two weeks ago. We were hoping that we would received the passport back along with canadian visa within a week. We have not received the passport yet. and my mom is travelling from east coast to west coast on southwest tomorrow. Does anybody know if she can travel and is there any other alternative to convince the southwest airline to let her travel. We just had the copy of her passport. Please share your expert view.

Good News for me

My mom was allowed to travel from east coast to west coast without the passport. Security officer didn't even ask for the copy of passport. But we had to make a request and they properly checked my mom. What a relief uhhhhh... Thanks for your reply. Thought of sharing this info, somebody else might need it.

Passport Not Needed For Travel Within Usa

If one has a goverment photo id, they don't need to travel with a passport within USA. My parents have state Id's from CA and when they come to USA, that's what they use to travel and never use their ppts.

During this long week end, I travelled from LAX to east coast by United. In LAX no body bother to ask photo id at all.

TSA baggage screning staff see the boarding pass and my face. Thats all.
I do not know how they check us with boarding pass and face.?
